acorn squash |
pole beans: Scarlet Runners and Blue Lake FMI |

red cabbage; although it has survived the hail damage, there are still some injured leaves |
cantaloupe |

pickling cucumber (that's as big as they get) |

cucucmber and acorn squash plants competing for sunlight |

long shot of garden |

wide-angle shot of garden |

green pepper; they're really skinny, but they're definitely green bell peppers |
the very smallest poblano (pablano) pepper; I'm makin' ANCHOS! |

shot of the patio from afar (tomatoes in the pots on deck) |
a couple of pepper plants (jalepenos, I think) |
pumpkin |
two pumpkins hiding on the ground |
pumpkin patch; there is a red cabbage at the right end and an acorn squash on the left, but the middle 80% or so is solid pumpkin (and it's just ONE plant!) |
pumpkin blossom; there are about 20 on the plant at any given time |
pumpkin blossoms; they're normally only open in the morning |
two fried pumpkin blossoms; I know, I know: it looks like scat. |
Kip suggested this, and I think it's cool: I'm trying to get the pumpkin plant to grow to the patio table, and, if it goes as planned, I'll grow a pumpkin ON the table, as a sort of living centerpiece. The plant is essentially already to the table, so now I've just got to coax it to put a fruit at the end. |
