Some various pictures of the family in Omaha.
Alan Frank Tricia's Dad, Alan, reclines with a crossword puzzle on the sofa in the living room.
Jim and Susan Van Dam Mark's parents Jim and Susan relax in the living room.
Baby Tricia A black and white of Tricia in an oval frame when she's about 18 months old. This picture hangs in the living room, and we love it largely because of Tricia's dour expression. Maybe the cameraman was withholding a cookie. We call it Baby Shu-Shu
Christina Frank Tricia's sister Chris sits at the dining room table.
Coffee time Our families get some coffee at Scooters in the Old Market downtown district of Omaha the day after Christmas.
Coffee time The families at the coffee shop, just before ice skating at the downtown rink.
Franks Tricia's family on Christmas Eve, right after we got married. (L to R): Todd, Huck, Chris, Alan, Bel, Mark, Tricia.
VanDams Mark's family. (L to R): Marissa, Kip, Belle, Yolande, Tyler, Kait, Susan, Mark, Tricia, Jim.
Huckleberry Huck Isaacs plays on the floor while a giant Lingo supervises.
Kait and Kids Kait plays with the youngest guests, Belle, Tyler, and Huck.
Lingo Dingo Dog Lingo poses with a red stool in the kitchen. The photographer is likely holding some bit of left over turkey to get him to sit like that.
Bel and Susan Tricia's Mom (L) and Mark's Mom (R) prepare some food in the kitchen.
Mark, Tricia, Huck, Chris A few days before Christmas, we settle some bet using either Wikipedia or Google.
Todd 'n Huck Todd relaxes on the floor and his son Huck commands the fire.
Tyler and Belle Marissa's kids Tyler and Baby-Belle wile away the afternoon.
VanDam girls Kaitlin beats Belle and Marissa in a contest to see who can bundle up the most in downtown Omaha.
Almond cake A dutch tradition: almond cake.
Pao de Queijo Bel prepares the delectable Brazilian pao de queijo, a cheesy delight.
Mark Turkey Mark predicts the eventual fate of the turkey for Christmas dinner. This 32-pound monster of Douglas County was raised at the Boys Town farm. Mark cooked it (in the kind neighbor's oven) for over 7 hours, after an overnight apple cider brining. It was awesome. And Mark's prediction was absolutely true.
turkey stock Mark prepared turkey stock with all the trimmings from the big bird. The turkey was not happy about this.
turkey stock The stock cooked for 6 hours or so. In total, we amassed over three gallons of the finest turkey stock imaginable.
table A very comfortable table set with Christmas treats.
